Magrabi hospitals are always keen to serve their patients through the highest standard of care in parallel with the use of cutting-edge technology.
We are delighted to announce that, Dr. Adel Alakeely, will present at Optos webinar, Wednesday 20th October 2021 our experience at Magrabi hospitals using the latest imaging modality and how it facilitates examination of the retina from vitreous through the choroidal-scleral interface and helps guide treatment decisions, through a Combined Ultra-widefield Retinal Imaging Device and Optical Coherence Tomography OCT. Optos Silverstone technology is available at Magrabi Eye Center in Ghernata since late August helping provide our patients with the highest standard of care.
What is Silverstone technology?
This technology is the first of its kind thanks to its ability to combine world-leading wide-field retinal imaging with an integrated, image-guided OCT source.
Silverstone is a state-of-the-art technology that can produce a 200-degree single-shot image with OCT guidance.
It allows advanced OCT imaging anywhere across the retina, from the posterior pole to the distal extremity.
These images also provide multi-modal guided imaging to support the detection of retinal diseases then selection of appropriate treatment.
Silverstone technique combines autofluorescence (AF), fluorescein (FA), and indocyanine green (ICG) angiography with OCT imaging capabilities from Swept Source.
The advantages of Silverstone technology can be summarized as follows:
- Allows for a quick exam without the need for dilation.
- The only technology with a built-in scanning source and UWF router.
- Produces a 200° single-shot Optomap in less than a second.
- Allows OCT scans directed through the retina and into the far sides.
- UWF technology with pulverized source OCT facilitates detailed examination of the vitreous to sclera retina
- UWF-guided computed tomography (OCT) scans, images of pathology anywhere on the optical map
- 1050nm OCT light source, providing deeper tissue penetration for clear and detailed choroidal imaging.
- Color Depth Imaging 3-in-1 technology provides essential clinical data from the surface of the retina across the choroid.
This helps determine the appropriate treatment from among the available treatment options.
